Our History
Gordon Imports, Inc. was established in 1978 by Hugh Gordon.
Amphicar parts specialization began in 1980, and by 1985, replaced all other warehouse parts lines. Today, we supply
customers all over the world with our 90% fill rate in parts orders.

Our Founder - Hugh Gordon
Hugh’s first involvement
in the auto industry began immediately after college graduation at Cadillac, a division of General Motors. Later, he
worked with J. Walter Thompson in the Ford Dealer advertising fund account. In the early 70’s, he learned Spanish
and some German to enable parts buying for his new import parts company, Gordon Imports. His Volkswagen and Mercedes
parts business grew throughout North
America until 1980. Following
successful surgery in 1980 to restore his eyesight after a year of blindness, he began the Amphicar parts business as a retail/mail
order operation. Today, Amphicar at Gordon Imports Inc. is an established specialty parts warehouse serving customers
in almost every country.

Our Purpose
Our purpose is to see all 2500+
Amphicars fully restored from four-flat-tire hulks to pristine museum beauties, fully road and seaworthy.
To that end, our goal is to supply
and approach 100% fill rate on all orders, and to ship the order the same day received.

The Gordon Imports satisfaction and return policy: If an
Amphicar owner purchases a part from Gordon Imports, Inc., and has not installed it;
he may return it in unopened, “back on the shelf”, resalable
condition, and we’ll refund his price paid. (The
only exceptions are organic parts, such as upholstery, convertible tops, and weatherstrip.)
